The stock cat back system was replaced with a high-flow model from Borla.
The system, purchased from Ford Performance Specialists (Atlanta, GA),
is a made of aircraft-grade T-304 STAINLESS STEEL and comes with a 1,000,000 mile warranty.
- Why:
With the addition of the SHO SHop Y-Pipe, the existing cat back system could not handle the added volume. The noise was unbearable (can
you say hornets in a coffee can?), especially above 4200 rpm when the secondaries opened. I thought this as the driver, so I can only imagine what the cars behind me
heard.
After listening to many different exhausts I finally heard Paul Tibbal's Borla system. At that moment I decided that the Borla had the exhaust note for which I was
looking. Jason down at Automan Muffler mated the Boral to my Sho Shop Y-Pipe and have been thrilled ever since!
