1991 Ford Taurus SHO

History :: Purchase ::
	The SHO was purchased new by my father (see right). My parents, originally from the east coast, have lived in the Northern suburbs of Chicago since before 1970. I was of course raised in the Chicago area until about 1986 when I left for college and grad school. After grad school my wife and I returned to the Chicago area for about 5 years. Yes this IS related to the SHO. You see, it was during that time that my father purchased the SHO ... and my story begins!	(Dad)
	The SHO was ordered on 17-DEC-1990 from Bredemann Ford in Glenview, IL. My father took delivery of his SHO on 21-JAN-1991. At the time of delivery the odometer read 67 miles. The original sticker price was $23,463.00. After negotiations, the actual purchase price ended up being $21,396.81. I must confess that at the time of purchase I had little knowledge of or much interest in SHOs. Yes, it is sad but true ... to me (like to most people even today) the SHO was "just a Taurus". Tauri were suited for corporate fleets and maybe car rental places. Only later would I learn how truly blasphemous my opinions were. Luckily for me, as they say "Father knows best" and the purchase was made. The first time I had the privilege to get behind the wheel and thump the accelerator (a trip to the golf course I believe), my mind was forever changed! Continue the story with the Illinois years
